ECCHO Membership

ECCHO is all about Check

How your organization can benefit from Membership:

Support:  ECCHO is a trusted place to call with Check questions:  Information and assistance with “what do I do when” scenarios. Information ECCHO provides regarding check-related issues or questions does not constitute legal advice and should not be relied on as such.

Education:  Live and recorded education provided by industry experts on a wide range of check topics including: check basics, fraud and exceptions management, warranty breaches and dealing direct, Remote Deposit Capture risk, and more. The National Check Payments Certification (NCPC) provides institutions a ready means of developing or enhancing institutional knowledge which helps combat check fraud (member-discounted pricing available).

Advocacy:  ECCHO supports the check industry by advocating on check-related legal and regulatory issues, providing a forum for industry discussion, liaising with key industry organizations and promoting the efficiency of the check image payment system.

Connection: Upon providing your organization’s contact information, your organization will have access to ECCHO’s Exception Contact Directory which contains direct contact information for other ECCHO members to help resolve check exceptions quickly. This directory also contains submission information specific to Rule 9 claims which can only occur between ECCHO Members.

ECCHO RulesMember-designed electronic check exchange rules establish clear standards for image exchange, and are updated by the membership to reflect on-going changes in the check environment. The ECCHO Rules also include unique features, as well as related commentary that describes the purpose of the Rule, and provides examples of how a Rule applies to hypothetical situations.  If an ECCHO member agrees to exchange check images with another member, they must agree to abide by the ECCHO Rules, which helps avoid the need for executing multiple customized bilateral agreements.
