Financial institutions (FIs) that accept Federal Government benefit payments such as Social Security, Veterans Administration and Railroad Retirement must follow the rules outlined in the Green Book (Guide to Federal ACH Payments). This session will address an FI’s obligations for posting and returning benefit payments, liability, death notifications, Notice of Reclamations and payments made after the death of a benefit recipient.
